In April 2022 I joined the Dravet Syndrome UK team as Director. Along with staff and trustees I'm looking forward to supporting families and enabling self-advocacy for those families. Whether I'm working with families, medical experts or health and social care professionals, I'm aiming to ensure the voice of those affected by Dravet Syndrome is heard.
Prior to joining DSUK, I was MD at Faversham Counselling Service and I've previously worked for the Epilepsy Society in a national role as Head of Regional Services throughout England and National Head of Community Services at the Royal Mencap Society. I have a Masters degree in Law and I'm trained as a Nurse.
With 18 years' experience in senior management and leadership roles within the Health and Social Care sector and my passion for supporting families with complex needs, I'm excited to get started to help achieve the goals set out in DSUK's five-year strategy, to reach and empower more families, deliver research that puts family needs first, and improve awareness and understanding amongst professionals.
