Our weekend away was comprised of almost 50 families, all gathering to enjoy the woodland setting and take advantage of the fantastic amenties and support on offer at Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest.
The DSUK team had once again coordinated a broad selection of activites for young and old alike - the calm and serene Paint-a-Pot saw even last years' pottery mesterpiece's surpassed by an even more colourful array of clay squirrels, hedghogs and of course Elsa from Frozen!
For those siblings looking for action & adventure, a short stroll through the woods revealed the epic laser tag course strewn throughout the trees at the Outdoor Activity Center. From the blistering activity, it was difficult to make out if the parents and adults taking part were supervising or instead an elite guerilla laser tag team with an agenda to win win win!? We will not know until the rematch showdown already pencilled in for our 2018 visit.
With hungry tummies treated to chips, sausages and beans et al at Huck's the fully-fed troops went on to enjoy a soft play session with parents and kids mingling throughout the afternoon before most chose to retire for a nap and a rest.
There was no age cap on fun which certainly showed at Mum's and Dad's night, a fantastic opportunity for parents to let their hair down and have fun with like-minded Dravet parents. Many friendships were reunited and many more were made.
We were extremely pleased to again have onsite medical support from 'Rapid Response Services UK' who once again have our thanks for their tremendous support when called upon.
We are planning even more adventures for next year so if you didn’t manage to make it along to Center Parcs this time we hope you’ll be able to join us in 2018 (bookings now open via our our 2018 page!)
