Neil Williamson

Safeguarding Trustee

I am a Children’s Epilepsy Nurse Specialist. I run an independent nursing and training service, and work at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS trust. I was a member of DSUK's Medical Advisory Board before making the transition to join DSUK's Board of Trustees in September 2020.

I've been a nurse for more than 20 years with a special interest in Epilepsy and neurology. I've worked in Acquired Brain injury units, Acute Neurology, Tourette Syndrome, Epilepsy, Cardiac, Metabolic services and Palliative Care, often with children and young people with complex needs and disabilities.

Now working in my own practice and the NHS, and for several charities, I have many young people under my care with Dravet Syndrome. I'm passionate in supporting families living with Dravet Syndrome and passionate about ensuring these young people and their families are supported to live their lives as fully as possible and maximise their experiences.

After several years with the Medical Advisory Board, I’m really excited to take up this Trustee role with DSUK. They’ve created a fantastic, supportive community and provide vital services that help improve the lives of all those affected by Dravet Syndrome. Its a charity I am proud to continue to be part of in the new role as trustee. I’m looking forward to working closely with the other Trustees to continue helping more and more people living with Dravet Syndrome.
